Good morning fellow members of the Agassiz-Harrison Rod & Gun Club,
There will be an general meeting of members on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016, at 7:00PM in the Lion’s Den at the Agricultural Hall.
The board is still preparing a final agenda, but a few important items are as follows:
- The “current” 2015 Constitution & Bylaws drafted by the previous administration we have been operating under was not enacted legally, and was never filed with the BC Registry; therefore, it is invalid. We are now operating under our last filed Constitution & Bylaws. The website link in the “Member’s Only” section to the Constitution & Bylaws has been updated to reflect this.
- The Constitution Committee, chaired by Brian Weeks and created at the June 25th, 2016 general meeting, has prepared a draft of a proposed Constitution & Bylaws. The rewrite is required to comply with the new Societies Act, but is also an excellent opportunity to update these documents to best serve the interests of all members. Please refer to the “Member’s Only” section to view the current draft, and please keep in mind the new Societies Act, found here. Any questions, comments or concerns can be directed to Brian Weeks @ blw-home@shaw.ca, or brought up at the Sept 20th meeting.
- The board will be asking the membership to approve a Lifetime Membership for Dave Ryan, past president.
