First of all, I’d like to welcome you to our new website! Have a look around and please, try very hard to break it. Yes, please do. If you happen to find anything wrong, incorrect, incomplete, omitted, etc… please fire an email off to me describing the issue. I will get things fixed ASAP!
The purpose of this new site was two-fold. There has been some difficulty in gaining complete access to the old systems from the former caretakers, and the old systems were costing the club an enormous sum of money. This current website was entirely designed and created by your truly, using WordPress and at no cost to the club other than the domain ($15/year) and webhost ($10/month) expenses that any website incurs. Furthermore, it is extremely simple to add news/notice/blog posts as needed. Once trained, the board members and chairpersons will each be able to post news items such as this one, to keep the general members well informed about events, incidentals, range closures and so forth. Unlike before, at no time will the club be forced to spend money (lots of money!) to simply edit or update information on the website.
These news posts will supplement the typical email blasts that come out of the club email account, not replace them. So there is no need to worry about having to transition to a new way of receiving information or be forced to check this website for information. More information, and information about less formal things, will be posted here while notice of meetings and club events will still be provided via email as well as posted here.
Stay tuned for more information and additional content on the club website that was previously not found. Of particular note, the club’s financial information will be made available in the Member’s Only section. The 2016 Audit Report, which was presented by the auditor at the June 25th General Meeting, is available now. If you have any trouble getting into the Member’s Only section, please check your membership card for “Lock No :” and enter the number provided there as a password. And always feel welcome to contact me if you continue to have trouble.
